I'm here to post life as I live it being mom to a little red dachshund named Hildegard, Hilde for short. As you can seen the dog in my picture is not a red dachshund. He is one that I lost this past January. His name was Solomon. He was only 11 years old when he left which was far to soon for me. After about a week of being alone, and missing my sweet boy, I found about a puppy from a friend's sister's next door neighbor whose male had "slipped" the gate and thus she had 4 puppies. 3 males and one female. Since I just had a black and tan male, I went with the red female and named her Hildegard as mentioned earlier. This was in late January when she came to live with me for a bargin price. Since then life has been full of her playing, going to puppy class, and trying to housebreak her. She is now 10 months old and the love of my life. She hasn't fully gotten the housebreaking concept, but is getting it. Seems she goes through spells where she does great, and then she seems to backslide. But all in all she is a sweetie pie and most surely a keeper.
